This month, the Oprah Winfrey Leadership Academy has produced its inagural class of female graduates who will all head off to university programs in South Africa and the United States, reports The Washington Post. More than a dozen of the students have received full scholarships.
As a special graduation treat, Winfrey herself will deliver the commencement address at her school’s graduation ceremony in January when the South African school year ends.

Winfrey reportedly spent $40 million of her own money to build the school’s 20-building, 22-acre campus complete with state-of-the-art computer and science labs, a library and a wellness center. None of the girls who attend the school pay tuition fees.
Congrats to the happy grads!
