Last week, talk show host Wendy Williams read a note on-air that OWN creator, Oprah Winfrey, allegedly wrote to her about her best friend, Gayle King. King recently accepted a co-anchor position on the CBS morning news show.

Williams had speculated that King’s new job would strain their friendship, and Oprah’s alleged note denied any rift.

“The letter that I heard Wendy read,” King told a radio call-in show Friday, “I know Oprah never wrote a letter to Wendy.” King goes on to explain that she called Oprah directly after hearing about the note, and Winfrey denied it.
“Gayle, you know more than anybody knows that that’s not true,” King said Winfrey replied.
Neither camp has released a statement about the matter. But we hope it gets cleared up!
