On Tuesdays’ premiere, his character Malik revealed that he’s head over heels in love with Jenna (played by Tika Sumpter) and it seems Hosea’s been struck by cupid’s arrow in real life too.
Hosea showed up to the ESSENCE offices for a visit this week with a huge smile on his face. When we asked if he was seeing anyone special these days his grin widened, and he enthusiastically replied, “Yes. Yes I am. It’s big news.”
Who’s the lucky lady? Apparently it’s a woman from his past, whom he now sees a very bright future with. “It’s a relationship that’s come back around full circle,” Chanchez said. “She lives in New York City. We’re just in a really good place right now. I’ve known her about nine years.”
Hosea’s typically shy when it comes to commenting on his personal life, but on this day, he was more than willing to share the love. We asked him how he and his mystery girlfriend rekindled their lost love. “We broke up and she moved out here,” Hosea told us. “We hooked back up after she got back out here and things are going really well now. Some of the problems that we had in LA we don’t’ have here.”
No word yet on whether marriage plans are in the near future, but Chanchez promises to keep us posted. “I do share when there’s something to share,” he said.
The last time we heard anything about Chanchez’s love life was back in 2009, when he and his “The Game” co-star Tia Mowry’s twin sister Tamera Mowry dated for a short time. The romance fizzled fast, but the two remain friends. Mowry has since married Fox news correspondent Adam Housley.
In the meantime, we’ll have to wait until next week to find out if there’s any hope for Malik and Jenna on the show, but in real life Chanchez seems to be well on his way to finding his own happy ending.
