Kevin Hart is bringing his comedy show, “Let Me Explain,” to the Big Easy. The Think Like a Man star said, “With my birthday coming up, I was thinking about making plans for my big day that week when I got the invite to come down to the ESSENCE Music Festival. There’s no place I’d rather be than in New Orleans celebrating with over 400,000 Black people. New Orleans will not be the same again.”
Hart’s been very busy as of late. BET announced last week that the comedian will star in their latest semi-scripted comedy series called House of Husbands. It’s said to be based on a small sketch Hart performed at the 2011 BET Awards featuring several Hollywood celebrity men tied to famous women.
Just days ago, it was announced that Eve was added to the Festival lineup as well as Yolanda Adams and Kirk Franklin. The latter two will join Mary Mary, Fred Hammond, Maurette Brown Clark, Kim Burrell, Byron Cage and more on Sunday July 8 for a Gospel all-star celebration.
The latest acts will join headliners Aretha Franklin, Mary J. Blige, Ledisi, Marsha Ambrosius, Keyshia Cole, Fantasia and a reunited SWV at the Festival.
