At 1 a.m. Friday morning, the über popular pastor allegedly put his hands on his 15-year-old daughter, according to Atlanta’s 11 Alive station and the Associated Press.
Fayette County Sheriff’s Office investigator Brent Rowans says authorities arrived at the Dollar home to find that he and his daughter had gotten “physical.” The two were arguing over whether or not she could attend a party when the pastor allegedly threw her to the ground, choked her, punched her and hit her with his shoe. The girl’s injuries were “superficial” according to reports.
Dollar told authorities he was trying to restrain his daughter when she “became very disrespectful.” He confessed to spanking and “wrestling” her to the floor. He also claims he only went that far because she hit him.
The church leader faces misdemeanor charges of battery and cruelty to children.
He appeared in court this morning and posted $5,000 bond.
Creflo has yet to release a statement regarding last night’s unfortunate events.
