But Minaj has some words of advice to her fans, “Don’t rush growing up.” The rapper appeared on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno and shared some key pieces of advice for her barbies.
“I try to mold them,” she said. “I always tell them to stay in school, I don’t want them to grow up too quickly. I don’t want them to rush growing up, I want them to take it easy because I think when I was younger I thought I was missing out on something.”
When asked who she looks up to, Minaj said Jada Pinkett Smith is her role model. “I always loved Jada Pinkett Smith, and I still do, because I had the pleasure to meet her and she just seems so well put together, mentally. Like every time I see her in interviews, she’s always had this thing about her that made me feel inspired.”
Most recently, Minaj made history with her hit single “Starship,” which broke the record for the longest running single in the Billboard Top Ten with 21 weeks.
