Check out why we’re nuking day-old coffee:
• New York Knicks star Carmelo Anthony is suspended for one game without pay for confronting Boston Celtics player Kevin Garnett on Monday, reports ESPN. Anthony tried to confront Garnett in the tunnel, near the locker rooms and in the parking garage. As a result, Anthony will not be allowed to play in tonight’s game against the Indiana Pacers. “There are no circumstances in which it is acceptable for a player to confront an opponent after a game,” said NBA executive vice president of basketball operations Stu Jackson. • Despite having a decent year at the box office, Tyler Perry earned a number of Razzie nominations, which are given to the worst of the movie industry. He was nominated for Worst Actress (in drag), Worst Screen Couple, Worst Director, Worst Sequel and Worst Ensemble. Thankfully, no one takes these awards seriously. [Grio]
• A few weeks ago EPSN commentator Rob Parker made headlines after publicly criticizing Redskin’s quarterback Robert Griffin III’s blackness. As a result, he’s lost his job. ESPN vice-president Mike Soltys took to his Twitter account to inform everyone saying, “Rob Parker’s contract expired at year end. Evaluating our needs and his work, including his recent RGIII comments, we decided not to renew.” [Mike Soltys’ Twitter]
