It’s a done deal! According to Shadow and Act, Think Like a Man Too will hit theaters on May 30, 2014.
In 2012, the film—based on Steve Harvey’s number one best-selling relationship book, Act Like a Lady, Think Like a Man: What Men Really Think About Love, Relationships, Intimacy and Commitment—was made on a budget of $12 million and earned a $91 million.
So far, Will Packer has signed on to produce the film and both Keith Merryman and David A. Newman have jumped on board to write the script.
Although a firm premiere date is in place, it’s not clear what the storyline will be. Steve Harvey told Sister2Sister last July that no matter what, it will be a film in line with his vision. “You can’t take my book and turn it into anything close to buffoonery,” said Harvey. “The first movie wasn’t—and it really struck a nerve with men and women—and so the second movie has to be in that same vein.”
The new daytime TV ratings king hopes to make the sequel a winner with audiences around the nation. “I’d love to duplicate the success of the first one,” said Harvey. “That’s going to be pretty hard, but we’ll get there eventually.”
