With forty years of entertainment under her belt, Janet Jackson has officially reached billionaire status.
Jackson, according to E! News and Yahoo, earned $458 million in concert earnings, $304 million from big screen roles like For Colored Girls and The Nutty Professor and $260 million in album sales. The superstar also earned a whopping $81 million from sponsorship deals.
The 47-year-old singer further increased her bankroll after marrying fellow billionaire and Middle East investor Wissam Al Mana last year.
Jackson joins media tycoon Oprah Winfrey in the short list of African-American female billionaires and although the payoff on her years of hard work is large, the singer doesn’t plan on slowing down.
Jackson recently told Billboard that she’s beginning work on new music. “I am working on a new project now,” said Jackson. “We are creating the concept and initial thoughts on the music.”
