Some of Whitney Houston’s best performances will now be available for listening, all in one place. A CD/DVD featuring Houston’s first public perfomance, and one of her last perfomances, will be put together to showcase her legacy. “Whitney Houston Live: Her Greatest Performances” will be the late singer’s first live album. “[It] shows why she is at the absolute historic top rank up there with Aretha Franklin and Barbra Streisand as the greatest singers of our lifetime,” said her mentor Clive Davis. “It really has been a labor of love on my part to go through every concert performance, every TV appearance.” The collection will include memorable performances like Houston’s 1983 performance of “Home” from the The Wiz on The Merv Griffin Show, and her 2009 performance on The Oprah Winfrey Show. Although deciding on some songs was difficult, Houston’s sister-in-law, Pat Houston, enjoyed giving her fans a “continued moment of her greatness.” The album will be released November 10.
