Kerry Washington will be putting Scandal aside momentarily for her next big screen venture. MGM’s upcoming romantic comedy, Is He The One, will feature Washington in the leading role, as a bride on her wedding day. Told through a series of flashbacks, viewers will get to see three major relationships during her life, all leading up to Washington walking down the aisle to marry one of the men. But which one will she choose? The film was directed by The Best Man‘s Malcom D. Lee and will be produced by Todd Garner. A release date for the film has yet to be set. [Deadline]
During her latest show, Wendy Williams made a big announcement: She will be hosting the 2014 Soul Train Awards. After bringing on Dionne Warwick and son of the Soul Train creator Don Cornelius, Tony Cornelius, to announce the news, cannons of confetti shot out and Williams made a big promise. “I am so excited to be such a big part of such a musical night,” said Williams. “I will not let you guys down!” The 2014 Soul Train Awards air November 30 at 8pm on Centric. Kelly Rowland has been keeping everyone included in her beautiful pregnancy journey, and she just took it a step further. The glowing mom-to-be will be featured in the upcoming issue of Elle magazine, showing off her growing baby bump. Rowland shared a few of the shots on Instagram, and we’re totally excited. Alexandra Shipp has faced a lot of criticism over her upcoming role in Lifetime’s biopic, Aaliyah: The Princess of R&B. With Aaliyah’s family against the film, Shipp started out with a lot of nerves. “It was scary,” said Shipp. “But I knew that I had to do it. Something in me was just like, ‘You have to do this. You’re going to love this experience more than anything.'” The biopic is set to air November 15. [ETOnline]
While dining in New Orleans, Kanye West gave a bachlorette party the surprise of their lives. After sending them a pricey bottle of bubbly, West went over to take a picture with them, where he may have actually smiled. The bride thanked him, by posting on Instagram using the clever hashtag,”#KanyeWater.” [ETOnline]
Beyonce did everyone who didn’t want to watch the HBO series a favor, and put one of the best performances into a music video. Her “Flawless (Remix) ft. Nicki Minaj” video is a bit from the live performance in Paris and it’s amazing.
