President Obama received a family reunion of sorts when he traveled to Kenya this week.
According to the Huffington Post, the POTUS was greeted at Jomo Kenyatta airport in Nairobi, Kenya by his half sister Auma Obama.
He also met up with extended family members, including his step-grandmother for dinner.
As the first U.S. President to visit Kenya, where his father was born, Obama noted that this is a special trip to him.
“Obviously, this is personal for me,” he said in the opening speech of his official visit. “There’s a reason why my name is Barack Hussein Obama.”
He went on to speak about support of young people and women and government transparency saying that “Africa is on the move.”
