Outfitted in a light blue pantsuit paired with an orange button up and donning one of his signature hair wraps, The Purple One lit Miami’s Sun Life stadium on fire as he ran through a medley of his greatest hits for a live audience of over 74,000 and an estimated 93 million viewers.
A true entertainer and consistent crowd pleaser, Prince had all eyes on him from beginning to end, but the most memorable moment of the performance came just as he removed the mic from the mic stand and made his way down the stage runway to close out his set with “Purple Rain.” As it turns out, NFL officials were on high alert due to the unexpected weather conditions that threatened to derail their plans for pulling off a halftime show to rival the best of them.
