Ok. Disregard the Kanye-antics in which his movement and excitement kind of reminds us of that time Tom Cruise went crazy on Oprah, and Kanye West just might have a brilliant point.
In Ellen DeGeneres’s extended interview clip of “Kanye Keeps It Real,” Kanye address the tweets in which he enlisted Mark Zuckerberg’s one billion dollars to invest in “Kanye West ideas.”
“I feel that if I had more resources I could help more people,” explained Kanye. “I have ideas that can make the human race’s existence, within our 100 years, better. Period.”

But unfortunately, media’s portrayal of the artist has limited our expectation of what West is able or allowed to accomplish, he believes.
“We’re in a renaissance period. We’re in a place where people are multi-disciplined artists,” he said, using director of 12 Years a Slave, Steve McQueen as an example of a photographer who won an Oscar. Expressing that we’ve limited ourselves to believe we’re in a place “where people can only have one career, one profession throughout their entire lives.”
“The exact amount of emotion and color palette and sonics and everything that I put into my music, I put into the shoes. And they work,” said Kanye.
“I care about people. My dad lived in homeless shelters less than five years ago to find out he’s a psych major. My mom was the first Black female chair at the English department of Chicago State University; I was raised to do something, to make a difference,” Kanye passionately pleas.

Kanye doesn’t want to be limited in his creative expression or confined to the title of hip-hop artist and sees “the importance in the value of everyone being able to experience a more beautiful life.”
