Eagle-eyed viewers of FOX’s Empire might notice something different about Jamal Lyon this season.
During an appearance on Harry Connick Jr.’s daytime talk show, Jussie Smollett revealed a set secret from season three of the hit show, which premieres tonight.
“Right before the BET Awards, I just didn’t like my hair,” he said. “With the suit it didn’t work and I was like, ‘I want to shave my head.'”
Talk about impulsive! While the actor made sure season two was done shooting, he didn’t realize that season three would pick up exactly where it left off.

“We stopped at a barber shop 15 minutes before we were supposed to be there and shaved my head and then that was it,” he said. “They had to make me a wig, but it looks incredible!”
