It may not have been Sunday morning, but Andra Day took it to church on The View today with a powerful performance of her hit “Rise Up.” The Grammy-nominated R&B songstress stripped the song all the way down to its soulful essence, accompanied only by an acoustic guitarist.

The rendition lay bare the song’s inspirational message and supplied further evidence—as if we really needed it—that this girl can blow! After the song, Day was interviewed by View cohosts Whoopi Goldberg and Raven-Symoné, who praised the singer’s chops.
