In one of the most unconventional love stories we’ve seen, Jennifer Hudson and Adam Sandler fall in love in a new Netlfix film, Sandy Wexler.
Sandler plays the lead character Sandy, who’s a 1990’s talent manager devoted to bolstering artists’ careers. He falls in love with Courtney Clarke (Hudson) after seeing her perform at a children’s event. The trailer shows the ever-busy career of Sandy and his growing relationship with Courtney, as he works to make her a star.
According to Shadow and Act, this is Sandler’s third Netflix feature film under his million-dollar deal with the streaming service – all of which have only been released on Netflix, bypassing theaters entirely.
The film appears to be loosely based off of Sandler’s own manager, Sandy Wernick.
In addition to Sandler and Hudson, Chris Rock, Terry Crews, Kevin James, Judd Apatow and Lamorne Morris are in the Netflix film that premieres April 14.
