Queen Sharmell flexes her muscles but never loses her femininity. She pursued a career as a pro-wrestler after
her dance group, the WCW’s Nitrol Girls, was disbanded.
Booker T smiles at the vision of his beautiful bride being escorted down the aisle. It was a chance month-and-half-long assignment at the 2000 Los Angeles wrestling competition “Ready to Rumble” with Sharmell that made the otherwise all-work-no-play wrestler see the light.
“I love that she’s kind of like me—down to earth and regular,” he says.

Reverend Robert Lowery of St. Timothy Community Church in Gary, Indiana, prays with Booker T and Sharmell.
“Our friendship blossomed until one day we both realized we had feelings for one another,” says Sharmell, who was baptized as a little girl by Rev. Lowery.
Rev. Robert Lowery prepares the couple for their exchange of traditional vows. Designed by a local seamstress, Sharmell’s “mermaid-style” off-the-shoulder dress with a plunging backline and lace sleeves with crystal applique was complemented by her veil, which doubled as her train.
“I wore white satin shoes by Stuart Weitzman,” says Sharmell.
In 2005, nearly 200 of the wrestling power couple’s friends and family witnessed Booker “Booker T” Huffman make his promise of forever and always to his lovely bride Sharmell Sullivan at her home church, St. Timothy Community church in Gary, Indiana.
Booker T and Sharmell seal their eternal love with a passionate kiss.
“He is the most wonderful, kind person that I know,” gushes Sharmell.
After three years of courting, the lovely couple walks off as husband and wife.
“It’s funny, because I didn’t even think he liked me as a person,” says Sharmell with a laugh. “He would barely speak to me; if I tried to have a conversation with him, he would cut it short.”
Mr and Mrs. Huffman beam for the cameras after making their three-year romance official as husband and wife.
On February 5, 2005, Huffman popped the big question—well, sort of. “I was washing dishes and he said, Let’s get married. He’s a very practical person so it wasn’t your traditional proposal.”
