New Beginnings
“New year, new me!” That was Daedrea’s New Year’s resolution for 2012. While in Atlanta visiting friends for the New Year, she had plans to go out with a guy she’d been dating. Unfortunately, they had an argument and their plans fell through. Instead she ended up spending the evening with a friend and vowing to meet other guys and move on. On a whim she decided to log in to an online dating site. “Within a few days, I received a message from the man who eventually became my husband,” she recalls. “Ironically, at the time we met online, I was living in Michigan temporarily and he lived in Houston, but both of our online profiles said we lived in Atlanta. I was planning to move back to Atlanta at the time, and he had just moved to Houston from Atlanta a few months earlier and never changed his location. I had previously lived in Houston as well, and moved away only a few short months before he moved there.” It’s as if they were missing each other, but fate intervened.
Instant Love Connection
Their first date was St. Patrick’s Day weekend. They shared an amazing weekend touring Washington D.C. and dinging at nice restaurants. “What stood out about this date weekend was that even though it was our first date, it felt like we had known each other forever,” the bride shares. “It was so comfortable, and we laughed and talked for hours. By the end of that weekend, Chris asked me to be his girlfriend. Yes, high school, ‘Will you go steady with me?’ style! So, of course, I said yes. A month later, she moved back to Atlanta, although Chris still lived in Houston. They were in a long distance relationship for about a year before Chris moved to Atlanta too, and the lovebirds finally shared a zip code. Six months later he whisked her off to Los Angeles to celebrate her birthday.
From My Heart To Yours
Daedrea and Christopher were in Los Angeles celebrating her 30th birthday. One of her friends and her husband had joined them for some fun. While visiting the Griffith Observatory, a popular tourist attraction in Los Angeles, Chris surprised his ladylove with an epic proposal. “We took turn taking couple photos in different areas of the observatory,” she recalls. “Then Chris suggested that we take some photos in the middle of the courtyard. Then he said he knew how he could make the photo even better. He faced me towards him, got down on one knee and pulled out the ring box!”
