University of Alabama running back Greg Bryant has been declared brain dead by the West Palm Beach Police following a shooting on Saturday, reports USA Today.
The 21-year-old football player, and former Notre Dame athlete, was found shot in a car Saturday morning along with a passenger, 25-year-old Maurice Grover.

Notre Dame head coach Brian Kelly expressed his condolences in a statement, calling the incident “a sad and tragic situation.”
“My thoughts and prayers, as well as those of everyone associated with the University of Notre Dame and its football program, are with Greg’s family at this incredibly difficult time,” said Kelly.

The investigation has been declared a homicide and police are currently seeking witnesses to the shooting.
Grover was hospitalized for minor injuries.
