- News outlets are swirling with reports that R&B superstar El DeBarge suffered a drug relapse and has entered rehab. “I hate to disappoint my fans, but it is necessary for me to take the time to work on me so that I may continue to share my music…” said the star. Apparently, 50 Cent had much to do with DeBarge checking into a rehab center. Sadly, DeBarge will have to cancel his upcoming tour appearances with Kem and Ledisi. [BV]
- Oprah Winfrey has confirmed Michael Vick for an upcoming show. The show is said to cover Vick’s prison time, work with the Humane Society and his return to the NFL. [Eurweb]
- Rev. Al Sharpton has turned down another offer from “Dancing with the Stars.” He says he doesn’t have the time to commit to the show but claims, “I’ve got moves… I’d blow’em out!” SMH… [TMZ]
- Rihanna is being sued by famed photographer and video director David LaChapelle. He claims that Rihanna’s “S&M” video stole ideas from his work. He’s suing for an unspecified amount in damages. Rihanna allegedly copied “the composition, total concept, feel, tone, mood, theme, colors, props, settings, decor, wardrobe and lighting,” from his work. She will have to pay the big bucks if his claims are legit. [TGJ]
- Mashonda Thomas, Swizz Beatz’s ex-wife, has launched a relationships-based website called mashondaloyal.com. She aims to give relationship advice to fans. This should be interesting. We’ll be waiting for her to talk about a certain incident. [Eurweb]
- Whoopi Goldberg was piping mad on “The View” yesterday. Apparently, the New York Times did a piece on Black Oscar winners and omitted Goldberg — which is shocking because she won the award after decades had past since the last woman of color was honored. Check out her rant… [TMZ]
