Hollywood movie studio, Lionsgate, thinks so.
The New York Times reports that Lionsgate is reportedly working on a plan to turn Perry’s success with sitcoms and movies into a full-fledged cable channel called Tyler TV.
According to a source, the plan “involves rebranding all or part of the TV Guide Network, which is available to about 80 million homes.”
The other option is for Lionsgate and Perry to buy a small cable channel.
If true, Perry would join a prestigious league of African-Americans currently at the helm of cable channels, namely Oprah Winfrey and Cathy Hughes.
Can’t wait to see how this develops.
