According to TMZ, the legendary singer and philanthropist won temporary custody because the child’s mother is reportedly incapable of caring for the girl because of a drug habit.
Court documents indicate that Chaka has already been caring for the girl and is assuming the day-to-day “role of the child’s parenting, fulfilling both the child’s physical and psychological needs for care and affection.”

At the present time, Chaka shares custody with her sister, Tammy McCrary, and if all goes well she’ll soon have permanent custody.
