Each year the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers honors women who work in front of the camera as well as behind the scenes. Beginning on November 9th in New York City the association will honor Monica along with music executive Phillana Williams and powerbroker Mona Scott-Young, according to EURweb.
Janelle Monae will be honored on November 18th when the series heads to Atlanta, Georgia.

In all, the “Women Behind the Music” program is put together to uplift and encourage women in the music industry by allowing honorees to share their success stories.
