Today the rap mogul announced he would be taking the stage for two intimate concerts at Carnegie Hall on February 6th and 7th, 2012, to raise funds for the United Way of New York City and the Shawn Carter Scholarship Foundation.
The two concerts will be historic ones for Jay, as he’ll become the first solo hip hop act to ever headline the legendary hall. “Anytime I get the chance to expand and broaden the reach of hip hop is a great thing for me,” he said.
Tickets will be sold privately on Monday, December 12th (expect them to start at $2,500), while public tickets go on sale January 30th, 2012. Those ticket prices, says Jay’s camp, will be “what you’d expect for a Jay-Z concert.”
