With the 2012 red carpet season well underway, it looks like “The Help” stars Viola Davis and Octavia Spencer are the women to beat.
The two scooped Best Actress and Best Supporting Actress awards, respectively, at last night’s Critics’ Choice Awards in Los Angeles. The film itself won for Best Acting Ensemble.

In December, Davis and Spencer won Best Actress and Best Supporting Actress awards from the African-American Film Critics Association, and were also nominated for Screen Actors Guild awards. In total, “The Help” earned four SAG nominations.

This weekend, the cast is prepping for the Golden Globe Awards, where Davis and Spencer stand a good chance of winning more kudos.
