Brown adamantly denied any claims that his daughter was using drugs. But if she was, “I would always be worried about that,” he said. “I know what she is actually doing… I think people are, you know, making assumptions of what my daughter is and how strong she is. People tend to want to control strong–willed people and that’s what I see. I am her father, she talks to me about everything.”
As for his own drug use, Brown maintains he’s been clean for seven years, but says he enjoys an occasional cocktail. He did point out that since his DUI on March 27 he has been barred from drinking alcohol for 30 days. Earlier this week, he told Lauer that he never introduced drugs to Whitney and that he was not to blame for her death.
Lastly, Lauer asked about Bobbi Kristina’s relationship with her adopted brother, Nick. Brown said that he asked her about it and she denied they were dating. But believes that “she’s a young lady… you know, I would expect her to have a boyfriend” and says Nick is a “good kid.”
