A Chicago jury found Hudson’s former brother-in-law, William Balfour, 31, guilty on all counts, including third-degree murder.
Hudson, who appeared in the courtroom with fiancé David Otunga and sister Julia by her side, cried as the verdict was read.
Balfour is believed to have flown into a rage after finding out that Hudson’s sister, Julia, had begun dating another man. Julia is the one who discovered her mother’s body in the living room of her Chicago home on October 24, 2008.
The prosecution called over 80 witnesses since the trial began on April 23, 2012. Balfour’s defense team called two.
Today’s conviction means Balfour could be sentenced to life in prison.
