According to the Hollywood Reporter, Howard Rosenman, the film’s original producer/writer, and the executive producer of the 2012 version are teaming with Joel Schumacher to add new songs. The duo will be adding five new tracks for a “full-blown” musical interpretation of the film.
There’s no word on when it may actually hit the Great White Way.
In related Sparkle news, it was announced today that the novel version of the film will be released 10 days before the premiere date via Simon & Schuster.
