Actress Meagan Good describes her marriage with DeVon Franklin as the happiest, most valued and most respected relationship she’s ever been in. She attributes their choice to be celibate before marriage as the bond that brought them closer.
“It made our whole relationship be about us and getting to know each other,” Good said in an interview with Voice of Hope. “There was no confusion.”
Good, who exchanged vows with preacher and Hollywood executive Franklin in June, said that her celibacy also changed the way she viewed herself. “One of the things I noticed right off the bat is I had more clarity, I had more self worth, I had more peace of mind and I just was a lot more relaxed and sure of myself,” she said.
Franklin agreed, adding that their abstinence was a part of God’s will and the rewards can’t be quantified.
Good, who is best known for her acting roles, seems to be taking some pointers from her husband on work behind the camera. She recently made her directorial debut on the set of her cousin Dijon Talton’s music video, “Wild Out.”
