• Brooklyn Nets head coach Avery Johnson was fired yesterday. He received his walking papers despite being named Eastern Conference Coach of the Month for October and November. He’s being replaced by P.J. Carlesimo for the time being. The Nets have lost 10 of the last 13 games. [YBF]

• Who owns the phrase ‘YOLO’? Apparently, Drake believes he does. He sent out an Instagram message urging Macy’s and Walgreens to either stop producing merchandise with the phrase or send him a check. However, Drake wasn’t the first to use it. It first appeared on the NBC reality show The Average Joe in 2004 and Adam Mesh, the show’s star, began a YOLO clothing line that year. [Rolling Stone]
