• Comedian Dave Chappelle got a big surprise when he finished his stand-up routine at New York’s Comedy Cellar recently. His good friend and fellow comedian Chris Rock surprised him and joined Chappelle for an hour of laughter and conversation. They even discussed going on tour some time in the future. “After next Tuesday, I’m free for like 11 years,” joked Chappelle. “I’ve got time between now and the movie [set to film this spring]. By Halloween, I could do some dates,” replied Rock. Only time will tell if they’ll make good on their possible plans. [Gawker]
• If you think Nicki Minaj ever had plastic surgery on her face, think again. The rap diva adamantly denies having altered her face. The American Idol judge told Extra, “I’ve never had surgery on my face. When people see my makeup they think all types of things that I’m doing to my skin, but it’s makeup.” If you’ve noticed Minaj’s toned down appearance thus far in 2013, it’s part of her new look. “It’s a bit more grown and sexy and like… less is more,” she said. • Former Temptations singer Richard Street has died at age 70. The singer passed away at St. Rose Dominican Hospital in Las Vegas, his wife, Cindy, confirmed. “He was really fighting for his life,” said Cindy. “He’s a fighter.” Although Street was not one of the founding members of the Temptations, he joined the group in the ’70s and performed with the band for more than 20 years. • Gospel singer Michael Winans Jr. is trouble with the law. Winans was sentenced to 14 years in prison for running a Ponzi scheme that stole more than $8 million from investors. “I want to apologize to everyone,” said Winans. “These were decisions thats were negligent and irresponsible,” said Winans.
