• Good Morning America anchor, Robin Roberts, will be honored by Diane Von Furstenberg’s fourth annual DVF Awards with the Lifetime Leadership Award. The ceremony will be held at the United Nations on April 5. Roberts returned to work in mid February after five months off to recuperate from a bone marrow transplant for her blood disorder, myelodysplastic syndrome. [People]
• Yesterday, Argentinian Cardinal Jorge Bergoglio was elected Pope. President Obama sent his warm wishes to the newly named Pope Francis. He urged millions of Hispanic Americans to join him in praying for the new pontiff. President Obama also looks forward to working with Pope Francis to “promote peace, security and dignity of people of all faiths.” [Associated Press]
• In other Obama news, First Lady Michelle graces the April issue of Vogue wearing a blue dress in the White House’s green room. Inside, Mrs. Obama opens up about the importance of family, loving her mother and what she learned from her husband. The magazine’s annual “shape” issue is slated to hit newsstands on March 26. • Justin Timberlake’s new album, The 20/20 Experience, hit stores next week. But the singer will have a one-hour special on the CW that same day. Target Presents the iHeartRadio Album Release Party with Justin Timberlake will be recorded on Monday in Los Angeles and will include performances and an interview.
