Omar Epps’ latest TV show, Resurrection, debuted to strong ratings last night with 13.3 million viewers and a 3.6 rating.
According to E! News, these number have earned the series the title of the best midseason drama debut since NBC’s 2012 premiere of Smash and makes it ABC’s best audience/demo in the time slot since January of 2010/11.
The eerie storyline, centers on the residents of a small town whose loved ones return from the dead with one question, “Did I really die?”
Epps plays Marty, an immigration agent who finds himself right in the middle of the mysterious happenings when he returns an eight-year-old boy home to his parents, only to find out that he died, 32 years ago. The plot thickens as old secrets are re-hashed and the town struggles to accept, understand and believe what is happening.
