Don Cheadle will begin shooting the Miles Davis biopic, Miles Ahead, in Cincinnati this summer.
The film about Davis life and music will be shot “entirely in Greater Cincinnati in the coming months,” Kristen Erwin Schlotman, film commission executive director tells Cincinnati.com.
Cheadlie, who is also directing the film, said he’s hoping to “work closely with the community to bring this project to (the) screen.” A call-out to local musicians, actors and union crew was made.
Zoe Saldana and Ewan McGregor will co-star in the film as well. The film was previously titled Kill the Trumpet Player.
A release date is not known.
