Tracy Morgan is suing Walmart over the deadly crash that left him critically injured and another dead.
On Thursday, the complaint was filed with the U.S. District Court in New Jersey.
According to the complaint filed by lawyers acting on behalf of Morgan and three others injured in the crash, the truck driven by the Walmart employee Kevin Roper rear-ended Morgan’s limo bus while going 20 mph over the speed limit.
In a statement, Walmart called the crash a “terrible tragedy” while adding, “We are deeply sorry that one of our trucks was involved. As we’ve said, we’re cooperating fully in the ongoing investigation. We know it will take some time to resolve all of the remaining issues as a result of the accident, but we’re committed to doing the right thing for all involved.”
Morgan is steadily recovering at a rehabilitation center. It is unclear whether he will be present in possible court proceedings.
