A rep for the The Houston family announced the news via a statement reports PEOPLE.
“Bobbi Kristina Brown passed away July, 26 2015, surrounded by her family,” says the family. “She is finally at peace in the arms of God. We want to again thank everyone for their tremendous amount of love and support during these last few months.” In a scene eerily similar to her mother’s death, Brown was found on Saturday, January 31 unresponsive in a bathtub at her Atlanta home. According to various news reports, her friend, Max Lomas, discovered her body and alerted Nick Gordon, who she called her husband, though her lawyers confirmed earlier this year that the two never married. She was rushed to an Atlanta hospital, where she remained in a medically induced coma until earlier this month, when family members made the decision to take her off of life support and admit her to hospice care. Doctors had gravely told the gathering family members in February that there was nothing else that could be done. Family members made the decision to take her out of the coma to better see the extent of her injuries. However, shortly after doctors stopped administering the medication, she began suffering from violent seizures. They made the decision to place her back into the coma. Rumors have been circulating in recent months about the 22-year-old’s injuries. Last month, her grandmother told news sources that her conditioning was worsening, though her father issued a statement soon after asking that the media not believe the rumors. On Wednesday, Bobbi Kristina’s aunt, Pat Houston, released a statement to E! News saying that the family had made the decision to move Bobbi to hospice care, and that her deteriorating health “was in God’s hands now.” Her death comes three-and-a-half years after her mother was found unresponsive in a Beverly Hills hotel bathtub in 2012. Sources have reported that Bobbi Kristina had been severely depressed and mourning her mother in the days leading up to her accident. Police have launched a criminal investigation, looking into whether a physical altercation had occurred shortly before the incident between Brown and Gordon. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family and friends of Bobbi Kristina.Bobbi Kristina Brown Passes Away at The Age of 22
