Kanye West may have stopped himself from taking Beck’s mic, but he held nothing back when telling the press how upset he was at the Album of the Year decision. “The Grammys, if they want real artists to keep coming back, they have to stop playing with us,” he said. “Beck needs to respect artistry and he should have given his award to Beyoncé. At this point we’re tired of it.” Yeezy admitted that though he was angry, he didn’t interrupt Beck’s moment because of his daughter. “I’m not going to do nothing to put my daughter at risk but I am here to fight for creativity,” he said. Kanye wasn’t the only controversy at the Grammys. Some viewers weren’t too happy that Beyoncé was chosen to perform the Selma tribute instead of Ledisi, who co-starred in the film. But Ledisi, though disappointed, isn’t too upset about it. “I was able to portray and sing my version of the song, and now we have Beyoncé. Her generation will now know the song, so I’m a part of history,” Ledisi said. “I’d rather look at that instead of looking at is as a negative.” [Necole Bitchie]

While we did not digitally lighten Kerry’s skin tone, our cover lighting contributed to this concern. We are committed to ensuring that this experience has a positive influence on the ways in which we present all women going forward.” Kerry Washington herself supports InStyle‘s statement, tweeting “Beautiful statement. Thank you for opening this convo. Its an important 1 that needs to be had.” [Clutch]
