No-makeup makeup has had a good run during the spring collections for a few seasons now. So much so, that natural makeup is no longer a trend, it’s a staple. So, when the models at the Prada spring ’16 collections sauntered down the runways of Milan Fashion Week sporting nude skin, it didn’t come as a surprise. But, leave it to makeup master, Pat McGrath to wow an otherwise nude palette. Dewy skin got a futuristic boost when paired with glimmering 24-karat gold powdered lips.
This 24-karat gold powder comes after the release of McGrath’s collaboration with Cover Girl for their new Star Wars collection, which also features a slew of metallic lipsticks. The gold pigment, “Gold 001” is McGrath’s own formula and will retail later this month on her namesake dot com, patmcgrath.com. In the mean time, if you’re dying to sport the gold lip trend, you can certainly try her Cover Girl Star Wars lipstick shade in “Droid” ($8, available at drugstores) to tide you over until you can purchase the original via her website later this month.
