Admit it: You’ve never really accepted the fact that Soul Train ended (it’s okay; we haven’t either).
But good news! The 1970s dance show is getting a reboot in the form of a Broadway musical.
The Hollywood Reporter reports that CSI creator Anthony E. Zuiker has signed on to write an on-Broadway musical adaptation of the record-breaking show.

“I speak from the heart when I say that Soul Train touched me deeply,” Zuiker said in a statement. “It has impacted this country on so many levels, bringing joy and hope to so many people out there, including me.”
The production is classified as a “musical narrative,” telling the story of Soul Train creator Don Cornelius through the songs performed on the show.
“Anthony’s vision for Soul Train the musical is emotional, deep, funny, edgy and authentic,” musical producer Matthew Weaver said in a statement. “I think people are going to be very surprised and deeply touched.”
What do you think the chances are of the cast inviting audience members on stage to boogie down a soul train line?
