Brown University students have no chill. Or at least that what the school’s campus newspaper says.
Earlier this month, Malia Obama toured Brown University, but while she was there, photos went viral of her at a party where beer pong was being played, though there is no evidence that she partook in the game.
Unsurprisingly, conservative media sites had a field day with the photos, forcing Brown’s student paper, The Brown Daily Herald, to issue an apology to the 17-year-old, reports The Root.
“Brown University had no chill when Malia Obama came to visit,” the paper wrote in an editorial. “The motivation to take these pictures was obvious: Being at a party with the president’s daughter was an exciting, unexpected moment that many of us wanted to share with our friends. We often do not think about our tweets and Snapchats reaching anyone besides our friends and followers, and certainly not news outlets with wide circulation like BuzzFeed.”

The editorial continued, saying that a majority of the Ivy League’s student body was disappointed in the so-called “lack of chill” surrounding Malia’s visit.
“Malia did not choose to grow up in the White House, and it is unfair that everything she does at just 17 years old is subject to harsh scrutiny,” it read. “While the chances of her selecting Brown have probably decreased since the publication of those articles, is she does ever come back to Brown, hopefully next time we will have more chill.”
Do you think that there’s any possibility that Malia will select Brown?
