Alicia Keys, John Legend, and Pharrell Williams are among the celebrities taking part in an A+E concert special addressing racial inequality and violence in America.
Shining Light: A Concert for Progress on Race in America is a two-hour concert intended to invoke heartwrenching and eye-opening conversation from the lens of intimate discussion and moving musical moments. The special will be followed by an hour-long conversation special called Shining a Light: Conversations on Race in America with Soledad O’Brien and ABC News’ Byron Pitts.
Moments within the show include a performance from Legend singing “Bridge Over Troubled Water” and Keys with her rendition of Donny Hathaway’s “Someday We’ll All Be Free.”

The multifaceted broadcast is centered on Keys, Legend, and Williams’ journeys to Baltimore, Ferguson, and Charleston—cities that made headlines when racially charged incidents reshaped the identities of their individual communities forever.
Smokey Robinson, Miguel, Tori Kelly, Jill Scott, and Jamie Foxx will also perform, with LL Cool J, Morgan Freeman, and Nicki Minaj presenting.
Tickets for the concert, broadcast from The Shine Auditorium in Los Angeles, CA, sold out in three hours with the proceeds set to benefit the Fund for Progress on Race in America sponsored by United Way Worldwide.
The special will air Friday, November 20 beginning at 8 p.m., on A+E and AOL.com.
