We’re putting this on our Christmas lists this year!
Selma director (and our girl crush of 2015) Ava DuVernay announced on Twitter over the weekend that her previously limited edition Barbie doll would be available to the public, reports The Huffington Post.

“Tomorrow this #AvaBarbie goes on sale for Christmas because enough folks asked @Mattel to do so,” DuVernay tweeted on Saturday. “Wild + wonderful.”
Mattel created a single version of the Barbie in April, which was auctioned off for charity. However, after DuVernay’s Twitter followers pushed Mattel to make the doll available to the public, the toy maker complied, and right in time for the holiday season. Even better? Proceeds from the doll will benefit various nonprofits.
#BlackGirlMagic to the max!
