Christmas came early for 20 single mothers.
Houston Rockets player James Harden recently surprised 20 local mothers and their children with a Christmas shopping spree at Target, reports The Grio. “Growing up, my mom was by her lonesome, so I had to do a lot, me, my brother and my sister,” he told a local television station. “So I can kind of relate.”

In addition to the shopping spree, BBVA Compass, the NBA’s official bank, distributed $100 savings certificates to all of the children to ensure that they could open up their own savings accounts.
Unsurprisingly, the mothers were unbelievably touched by Harden’s kindness.
“I’m really appreciative of this,” Tammy Copeland, a single mother who participated in the shopping spree told the television station. “I work and I go to school, and I’m a single mother of three kids. Very hard, but things like this, God just keeps on blessing me.”
