For reasons we can’t understand, some folks are still throwing tantrums over Beyoncé’s video for “Formation” and her subsequent Super Bowl performance. However, this most recent Bey lashing really has us scratching our heads.

A sheriff in Tennessee seems to believe that the singer is responsible for a drive-by shooting that took place outside of his home. In a press conference held Tuesday, sheriff Robert Arnold stated:
“With everything that’s happened since the Super Bowl with law enforcement as a whole, I think we’ve lost five to seven officers, [so] I’m thinking, ‘here’s another target on law enforcement.”

He further added,
“Well, you know, Beyoncé’s video and how that’s kind of led over into other things about law enforcement.”

We’re not sure what video and performance he watched, but an artist calling for an end to police brutality does not equal an attack on law enforcement. Blaming Beyoncé’s music for a violent crime is outlandish and inappropriate.
Thankfully, no one was hurt and police haven’t stated whether any of the shots actually hit Arnold’s house.
