Creed producers have confirmed that there will be a sequel to the Ryan Coogler-directed film, expected to hit theaters November 2017, and that the follow-up to the 2015 hit will focus on Michael B. Jordan’s character, Adonis.

Right now there’s is no one attached to direct, Coogler’s schedule is packed with various projects including Marvel’s Black Panther, and Jordan is not officially on board yet, but the film can’t happen without him. Still, despite things not yet being finalized, studio execs are positive things will move forward with producer Irwin Winkler telling The Hollywood Reporter, “Next couple of weeks, we’ll start. But basically it’s about Creed [rather than Rocky]. We think that there is really a story to examine the life of Adonis Creed, and we’re going ahead with it.”
