House Resolution 1577, created by Nina Holiday Entertainment, just passed in the state. The resolution is to ensure the inclusion of more minorities in the television and film production industry. Nina Holiday Entertainment’s Terri J. Vaughn, business executive Rikki Hughes and screenwriter Cas Sigers Beedles played a big part in getting the plan through legislation. With House Resolution 1577, programs will be put in place that will provide training for African Americans interested in working in the industry.

“We are excited to have been at the forefront of convincing the state of Georgia to pass HR 1577, making Georgia one of the first states to address the diversity challenges in the film and television industry,” the group said in a statement. “Nina Holiday Entertainment’s mission has always been to create opportunities that allow women and minorities to participate in this incredible creative industry. Now, through our newly formed Entertainment Diversity Program (EDP), we are providing training, as well as, work opportunities for Georgians. HR 1577 is a positive start to providing a solution to this ongoing diversity issue.”
What an incredible move forward!
