Days after a tragic shooting that took her husband’s life and left her recovering from gun shot wounds in each leg, Racquel Smith attended a public viewing for her husband, Will, last Friday.
With dark sunglasses over her eyes, riding in a black wheelchair, the viewing marked Smith’s first public appearance since the fatal shooting on April 9.
Her slain husband Will Smith—who was a first round draft pick for the New Orleans Saints in 2004 and an integral part of the defense, helping the team win the 2009 Super Bowl—was shot seven times in his back and once in the side.

In March, Smith was unanimously elected to the Saints Hall of Fame but the team had no intention of making the announcement until May 17.
The Smith’s married in 2008 and have three children, Wynter, William and Lisa.
