President Obama might have his hands full running the free world, but he’s never to busy to take some time out to be a proud dad too.
The White House recently confirmed in a statement that the President’s 17-year-old daughter Malia has decided to pursue her college education at the prestigious Harvard University and the POTUS says he couldn’t be more proud of his first born.

“I’m going to miss her terribly. But she is well-prepared, she is going to do great things — and as Michelle reminds us, our job is to make sure they don’t need us anymore,” he told CBS Ohio News affiliate WKRC. A Harvard alum himself, President Obama also expressed appreciation for being able to spend time with his family whenever he was working in town, one of the many convenient perks of living in The White House.
The Obamas have about another three or so before their youngest daughter Sasha begins finalizing her post-high school plans, as she’s currently finishing up her freshman year at Sidwell Friends in Washington, D.C.
