HuffPost reports that members of the organization drove all over Newark in a bus filled with cases of water to be delivered to affected schools, and that newly released data shows lead contamination has been a problem for Newark public schools for some time.
“Roughly one in eight water samples taken from the schools during the 2010-11 and 2011-12 academic years contained lead above the Environmental Protection Agency’s ‘action level’ of 15 parts per billion,” according to HuffPost.
